He waves over his shoulder, and she gives a tiny wave back as he disappears from view. And almost immediately after, Irene reappears.

Keira, with relief: Irene! Where have you been? I was worried!

Irene gives Keira a knowing wink.

Irene: Sorry, I didn’t want to interrupt. You two seemed to be having a moment. ♥

Keira blushes, profusely this time, and smiles self-consciously as she reaches down to grab a rock by her feet.

Keira: I-It wasn’t like that! He rescued me, that’s all…

She tosses the small rock lightly in her hand. Up and down, letting a brief silence settle in before speaking again. Then, with a strong arching of her arm, skips the rock across the lake’s surface.

Keira: He was really nice though, wasn’t he?

Irene: I hope we see him again.
