The teacher is looking down at his paperwork, clearly only asking her a question out of obligation. He’s completely unaware to the sudden morose expression. Her eyes furrow for a moment in determination, and then her awkward smile returns.

Keira: Uh, I dunno…Ch-change of scenery I guess?

The change in tone catches his attention, and he looks at her with a raised brow.

Teacher: I see. Thank you, Keira. You may return to your seat now.

Keira sighs in relief and trudges back to her seat as the teacher moves on with other class business. As she is about to pass Garrett again, she looks up.
