Before Keira can even think about drawing Garrett’s attention, the teacher arrives.

Teacher: Okay Kids! Class is starting, so find your seats!

He sets down his coffee and case, then pulls out a few documents and looks them over.

Teacher: It seems we have a transfer student. Why don’t you come up and introduce yourself?

Keira, startled to have attention called to her so quickly, panics.

Keira: M-Me?

Teacher, dryly: Are you the transfer student?

Keira: Well, yeah, but-
