The newcomer breaks the surface with Keira in his arms, both gasping desperately for air.

???: Hey!

He tries to get Keira’s attention as she chokes and hacks painfully on the water in her lungs. His face is a mere inches from hers.

???: Are you okay-

He stops mid sentence in surprise as Keira sobs into his shoulder. Slowly, gently, he wraps his arms comfortingly around her. 

???: Don’t worry, you’re safe now.

In the distance, two shapes break the water’s surface, watching as victim and rescuer slowly make their way to shore.
